Compared with the current A3 AWD Pro, the A4 improves edge cutting, slope capability, obstacle clearance and maneuverability while adding another layer of positioning technology. ## A4 AWD Pro Adds a Swing-Out Arm for Zero-Edge Mowing One of the biggest upgrades is Dreame’s new EdgeMaster 4.0 system. That is a more substantial change than simply moving the mower’s main cutting deck closer to the side of the chassis. ## AeroTurn Replaces the A3 AWD Pro’s Omni Wheels Dreame is replacing the A3 AWD Pro’s front omni wheels with an active steering system on the A4 AWD Pro, a change aimed at improving control and reducing turf damage. The A3 AWD Pro uses two front omni wheels that let the mower pivot without conventional steering. The A4 AWD Pro replaces that design with Dreame’s new AeroTurn system, which uses actively steered front wheels that turn in the direction of travel. Instead of pivoting around free-rolling wheels, the mower can steer through a turn in a more controlled arc. That should improve handling on slopes, uneven ground and tighter sections of a yard. Dreame also says AeroTurn is designed to reduce the sideways scrubbing that can occur when a heavy mower pivots in place. On softer turf, repeated turns can leave worn patches or ruts. Steering the front wheels into the turn should reduce that lateral force and help the mower track more cleanly across the lawn. ## A4 AWD Pro Improves Slope and Obstacle Capability The A4 AWD Pro is rated to tackle steeper slopes and larger obstacles than the current A3 AWD Pro. The A3 AWD Pro can handle grades up to 80%, or 38.7 degrees, and clear obstacles up to about 2.2 inches high. Dreame says the A4 AWD Pro raises those limits to a 100% grade, or 45 degrees, and about 2.6 inches of obstacle clearance. The higher limits should help the A4 AWD Pro navigate steeper sections of a lawn and cross exposed roots, uneven transitions and other raised obstacles with less risk of getting stuck. ## OmniSense 4.0 Adds RTK Positioning The A4 AWD Pro also upgrades Dreame’s navigation system. The current A3 AWD Pro uses OmniSense 3.0, combining 360-degree 3D lidar with binocular AI vision. The A4 moves to OmniSense 4.0, adding dual RTK positioning while retaining lidar and camera-based navigation. Lidar works well for local mapping and obstacle awareness, but RTK provides a broader positioning reference that can be useful as mowing areas expand beyond the practical range of a primarily lidar-based system. Dreame also adds dedicated side sensing to give the A4 AWD Pro a better view of what is happening close to the mower, where the main lidar and forward-facing cameras may have less coverage. One side sensor uses infrared detection to help identify people, pets and smaller animals, while a time-of-flight sensor helps judge nearby boundaries, drop-offs and objects along the edge of the lawn. That should give the mower more information when working close to walls, landscaping and other obstacles. ## Pricing and Availability The company says the new mower is expected to launch in the first half of 2027, though regional availability has not been detailed. European pricing is expected to start at €2,999, placing the A4 AWD Pro above the current A3 AWD Pro in Dreame’s mower lineup.
