The new model joins the T90 Omni, T90 Pro Omni, T90S Omni and T90S Pro Omni. All five use Ecovacs' Ozmo Roller 3.0 mopping system, but the similarities largely end there. The models differ in obstacle avoidance, battery setup, threshold handling and carpet protection. ## T90S Models Sit at the Top The T90S Pro and T90S Omni are the newest branch of the family. Both use Ecovacs' latest AIVI 3D 4.0 obstacle-avoidance system and have the highest threshold rating in the lineup. The Pro adds PowerBoost charging and a physical carpet cover for the lifted mop roller, while the standard T90S uses a larger battery instead. ## T90 and T90 Pro Take a Similar Approach The T90 and T90 Pro both use AIVI 3D 4.0 obstacle avoidance and Ozmo Roller 3.0. The main difference is the battery. The T90 has a 6,400 mAh battery, while the T90 Pro has a 4,000 mAh battery with PowerBoost. ## PowerBoost Comes With Trade-Offs PowerBoost is Ecovacs' fast-charging system for select T90 models. During a three-minute mop-washing stop, the robot can add up to 10 percent of charge to its battery instead of stopping for a longer traditional recharge. The T90 Pro and T90S Pro use 4,000 mAh batteries, while the standard models use 6,400 mAh batteries, giving the standard versions 60 percent more battery capacity. The trade-off is how often the robot has to stop. The standard T90 can clean longer between charges, while the Pro models rely more on short PowerBoost stops during a cleaning job. Those stops still take time beyond the three-minute quick charge. The robot has to return to the station and then travel back to where it left off. That can result in more starting and stopping within rooms. In practice, having the robot leave a room before it is finished and return minutes later can make the cleaning process feel less seamless and give the impression that the job is complete when it is not. Ecovacs says PowerBoost uses a self-optimizing algorithm to manage when and how much the robot charges during a cleaning job. In our experience with both the T90 Pro Omni and X12 OmniCyclone, that optimization was not immediate. It took several weeks of regular cleaning cycles before PowerBoost became better at managing when to return to the dock and how much charge was needed to finish a job. For us, the larger battery is the better choice. It is the only model in the group that does not use AIVI 3D 4.0\. Instead, it uses TrueDetect 3D with embedded dToF lidarand structured-light obstacle detection. That helps keep the robot to about 3.7 inches tall, but it removes the RGB camera system found on the other T90 models. The Max Plus also uses a 5,200 mAh battery without PowerBoost. Its threshold rating is lower at about 0.79 inches, compared with 0.94 inches for the T90 models and 0.98 inches for the T90S family. ## Pricing and Availability The Deebot T90 Max Plus Omni is available now in the United States for $699.99. The T90 Omni is also $699.99\. The T90 Pro Omni and T90S Omni are $799.99, while the T90S Pro Omni is $899.99.
