Ecovacs is preparing to launch the Deebot X12S OmniCyclone in the United States on Aug. 28, bringing several minor upgrades to the X12 platform released earlier this year.

The most notable changes appear to be a new system that dries the robot's onboard dustbin and internal air path after cleaning.

The X12S uses its BLAST airflow to dry its dustbin and internal air channel after cleaning, helping keep wet debris loose and easier to empty.

The OmniCyclone station also adds a high-pressure tray rinse after mop washing to reduce buildup in the base.

According to Ecovacs, the side brush lifts when messes are detected but does not extend, despite earlier reports of a redesigned mechanism.

The X12S gets a visual refresh as well. Its OmniCyclone station swaps the X12's dark charcoal finish for a lighter silver-gray, brushed-metal look, while the robot gets a wider, more sculpted front sensor assembly and contrasting gray top panel.

Vacuum specs have been revised. Ecovacs rates the X12S at 53 air watts and 27,000 Pa of suction and is emphasizing improved debris and pet hair pickup on carpet.

An updated AI assistant, YIKO 3.0, is also included with OZMO Roller 3.0 mopping, FocusJet stain treatment, TruEdge 3.0 and ZeroTangle 4.0 carried over from the X12.

Ecovacs is taking early-access registrations ahead of launch. Eligible buyers will receive a launch discount on Aug. 28 that can be used during the Aug. 28-31 preorder period, with additional launch benefits available to a limited number of customers.

Ecovacs has not yet announced U.S. pricing.
