Compatible Dreame robot vacuums can connect to Apple Home through Matter, allowing owners to control cleaning, use Siri voice commands and incorporate their robots into smart home automations.

The integration supports starting and pausing cleaning, selecting rooms, changing cleaning modes and returning the robot to its charging dock without opening the Dreamehome app.

Matter also supports local communication, allowing compatible devices to exchange commands over a home network without relying on the manufacturer's cloud servers for every request.

Apple introduced robot vacuum support with iOS 18.4 in March 2025\. Dreame has since expanded Matter compatibility across several robot vacuum models, although some advanced cleaning features remain exclusive to the Dreamehome app.

## How to Connect Dreame to Apple Home

Before starting, make sure your robot supports Matter, has the latest firmware and is already connected to Wi-Fi through the Dreamehome app.

Dreame's Matter setup instructions specify an iPhone running iOS 18.5 or later. A compatible Apple Home hub, such as a HomePod or Apple TV, is needed for remote access and home automations. However, iOS 18.5 and later can support adding Matter accessories without a hub.

1. Open the Dreamehome app and select your robot vacuum.
2. Tap the three-dot settings icon in the upper-right corner.
3. Open **Auxiliary Functions** and select **Matter**.
4. Locate the Matter QR code or PIN displayed in the app.
5. Open Apple's Home app and tap the **+** button.
6. Select **Add Accessory** and scan the Matter QR code.
7. Follow the instructions to finish pairing, name your robot and assign it to a room.

## How to Control Dreame Through Apple Home

Once connected, your Dreame appears as a robot vacuum accessory in Apple's Home app.

Selecting the robot opens its available cleaning controls, allowing owners to perform everyday tasks without switching to Dreamehome.

Supported functions include:

- Starting and pausing cleaning
- Selecting vacuuming, mopping or combined cleaning
- Choosing individual rooms
- Switching between available maps
- Selecting supported cleaning presets
- Returning the robot to its charging dock
- Checking cleaning and charging status

Dreame documents five cleaning presets available through Matter.

- **Auto:** Vacuums and mops simultaneously using standard settings.
- **Quick:** Uses a faster cleaning route with standard vacuuming and mopping settings.
- **Quiet:** Vacuums using reduced suction.
- **Low Power:** Combines quiet suction, reduced mop moisture and a quick cleaning route.
- **Deep Clean:** Vacuums before mopping using a more thorough cleaning route.

The available controls may differ by model, firmware and Apple Home software version.

### Cleaning Individual Rooms

Apple Home can display rooms from maps already created in Dreamehome, allowing owners to select one or more rooms for cleaning.

Dreame also supports switching between available maps through its Matter integration, although detailed map editing remains in the Dreamehome app.

Assigning the robot itself to a room in Apple Home is different from selecting a cleaning destination. The accessory's assigned room determines where it appears in Apple's interface.

### Using Siri to Control Dreame

Siri allows owners to start cleaning, pause a job or send their robot back to the dock without opening either app.

Dreame documents the following English voice commands:

- "Siri, start cleaning."
- "Siri, start vacuuming."
- "Siri, clean the kitchen."
- "Siri, stop cleaning."
- "Siri, pause vacuuming."
- "Siri, send home."

Dreame also documents a Siri request for checking what the vacuum is doing.

Room-specific commands require the appropriate room names to be configured in Dreamehome. Dreame's documentation identifies supported room names, including kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and dining room.

Voice command availability depends on the model, Matter implementation and Apple's language support.

## Why Connect Dreame to Apple Home?

The biggest advantage is convenience, particularly for households already using Apple's smart home platform.

Rather than opening Dreamehome for routine cleaning, owners can manage their robot alongside lights, thermostats and other compatible accessories.

Apple Home also supports scenes and automations that coordinate multiple smart home devices.

For example, a departure automation could start cleaning after everyone leaves home, while a scene could combine cleaning with changes to lighting or other connected devices.

Automation capabilities depend on the controls exposed by the robot and supported by Apple Home.

A compatible HomePod or Apple TV can provide remote access, while Apple's household sharing features allow invited users to operate supported accessories from their own devices.

## Can You Use Dreame Without an Internet Connection?

Yes, in certain circumstances. Matter is designed to communicate over a local network, which can allow basic Apple Home controls to continue working during an internet outage.

However, the robot, Wi-Fi network and Apple Home controller must remain connected and operational.

Here's what to expect:

- **Internet outage:** Local Matter commands should continue working if the home network remains operational.
- **Wi-Fi outage:** Apple Home cannot communicate with the robot over Wi-Fi.
- **Away from home:** Remote access requires an internet connection and a compatible Apple Home hub.
- **Dreame cloud outage:** Local Matter commands may remain available, although cloud-dependent features could stop working.
- **No network connection:** Basic cleaning and docking remain available through the robot's physical controls.

Some Dreame models also have a built-in voice assistant that supports offline commands. This operates separately from Siri and Apple Home.

Local Matter communication does not guarantee that every cleaning function will remain available during an outage. Connectivity, firmware and controller availability can affect operation.

## Which Dreame Models Support Apple Home?

Dreame has expanded Matter compatibility across several robot vacuum product lines.

According to Dreame's September 2026 compatibility guide, supported models include:

**Matrix Series**

- Dreame Matrix10 Ultra

**X Series**

- Dreame X60 Ultra
- Dreame X50 Ultra

**L Series**

- Dreame L60 Ultra
- Dreame L50 Ultra
- Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2

**D Series**

- Dreame D30 Ultra
- Dreame D30 Ultra CE

Matter support may require a firmware update, and compatibility can vary by regional model or software version.

Owners should check for the Matter option in Dreamehome before attempting to connect their robot.

## What Features Are Missing From Apple Home?

Although Apple Home supports several cleaning controls, it doesn't replace the more extensive customization available through Dreamehome.

The manufacturer's app remains necessary for functions such as:

- Creating and editing floor maps
- Adjusting room boundaries
- Setting no-go zones and virtual walls
- Configuring obstacle avoidance preferences
- Customizing suction and water settings beyond Matter presets
- Adjusting mop washing and drying functions
- Viewing detailed cleaning histories
- Installing firmware updates

Advanced model-specific features, including specialized cleaning routines and dock maintenance settings, also remain primarily within Dreamehome.

Apple Home is therefore best suited to routine cleaning commands, while Dreamehome provides more detailed control.

## Can Older Dreame Robot Vacuums Use Apple Home?

Dreame robots without native Matter support cannot be added directly to Apple Home through the standard pairing process.

Some older models support Siri Shortcuts or other voice assistant integrations, allowing users to trigger cleaning without opening Dreamehome.

However, these integrations differ from Matter. Siri Shortcuts trigger predefined actions rather than adding the robot as a native accessory in Apple Home.

Third-party platforms such as Homebridge and Home Assistant may offer additional integration options for unsupported models, although they require more involved configuration.

## What if Your Dreame Won't Connect?

If Matter doesn't appear in Dreamehome, first check whether your model supports it and whether the necessary firmware update has been installed.

If the feature is available but pairing fails, verify that the robot is online, Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone and both devices are connected to the same local network.

Dreame also recommends completing the pairing process within its specified setup window after powering on the robot.

Restarting the robot, router or Apple Home hub may resolve temporary connection problems.

If the robot was previously connected to Apple Home, remove the old accessory entry and obtain a fresh Matter pairing code before attempting another connection.

Avoid a factory reset unless other troubleshooting methods fail, because it may affect saved maps and cleaning preferences.

## Is Apple Home Worth Using With Dreame?

For households already using Apple's smart home ecosystem, Matter offers a convenient alternative to opening Dreamehome for routine cleaning.

Siri commands, room selection, cleaning presets and supported home automations make it possible to operate a Dreame alongside other connected devices.

Local communication also provides an advantage when internet service is interrupted, although it still requires a functioning home network.

Dreamehome remains necessary for advanced cleaning management, but Apple Home can handle many everyday cleaning tasks without requiring owners to switch between apps.
