The [Eufy Omni S2](https://www.vacubots.com/eufy-omni-s2-150-day-review-clever-cyclone-but-a-mopping-downgrade/) supports Matter, allowing owners to connect the robot vacuum to Apple Home for cleaning controls, Siri voice commands and supported smart home automations.

The integration also supports local communication, meaning basic cleaning commands may continue working without an internet connection as long as the robot and Apple Home controller remain connected to a functioning home network.

Apple introduced robot vacuum support with iOS 18.4 in March 2025\. The Omni S2 is among Eufy's Matter-compatible robot vacuums, alongside the Omni E25 and E28.

Apple Home provides convenient everyday controls, although advanced cleaning settings, floor maps and dock maintenance remain within Eufy's app.

## How to Connect the Eufy Omni S2 to Apple Home

Before starting, update the Omni S2's firmware and the Eufy app. The robot must already be connected to your home Wi-Fi network.

You'll also need an iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 18.4 or later. A compatible HomePod or Apple TV is needed for remote access and home automations.

Eufy's published Matter pairing instructions describe the following process:

1. Open the Eufy app and select your Omni S2.
2. Open the robot's settings and locate **Works with Matter**.
3. Select **Connect to Third-Party Ecosystem**.
4. Choose **Apple** and select **Start Pairing**.
5. Open Apple's Home app and tap **Add Accessory**.
6. Scan the Matter QR code or enter the pairing code provided by Eufy.
7. Follow Apple's instructions to name the robot and assign it to a room.

These instructions follow Eufy's general Matter setup procedure. The Omni S2's exact menu layout may differ, so owners should follow the prompts displayed in their app.

Eufy also recommends naming rooms in the robot's floor map before enabling Matter. This helps Apple Home identify cleaning destinations.

## How to Control the Omni S2 Through Apple Home

Once connected, the Omni S2 appears alongside other compatible smart home accessories in Apple's Home app.

Matter supports several robot vacuum functions, including:

- Starting and stopping cleaning
- Selecting supported vacuuming and mopping modes
- Cleaning individual rooms
- Returning the robot to its charging dock
- Checking operating and charging status

The exact controls available on the Omni S2 depend on its firmware and the features Eufy exposes through Matter.

### Cleaning Individual Rooms

Apple Home supports room-specific cleaning on compatible Matter robot vacuums.

To use this feature, owners should first create a floor map in the Eufy app and identify individual rooms.

The Omni S2 must also share its room information through Matter for those destinations to become available in Apple Home.

Assigning the robot itself to a room in Apple's Home app only determines where the accessory appears. It doesn't automatically select that room as a cleaning destination.

### Using Siri to Control the Omni S2

Siri provides another way to operate the Omni S2 without opening the Eufy app.

Depending on the available Matter controls, example requests may include:

- "Siri, start vacuuming."
- "Siri, stop cleaning."
- "Siri, clean the kitchen."
- "Siri, mop the living room."
- "Siri, send the vacuum back to its dock."

These are examples of possible Siri requests rather than a complete Eufy-verified command list for the Omni S2.

The available commands depend on the robot's Matter implementation and Apple's software.

## Why Connect the Eufy Omni S2 to Apple Home?

The biggest advantage is convenience, particularly for households already using Apple's smart home platform.

Instead of opening Eufy's app for routine cleaning, owners can manage supported functions alongside lights, thermostats and other connected devices.

Apple Home also supports scenes and automations that coordinate multiple accessories.

For example, a departure automation could start cleaning when everyone leaves home, while a scene could combine vacuuming with changes to lighting or temperature settings.

Available automation actions depend on the controls exposed by the robot and supported by Apple Home.

A compatible HomePod or Apple TV enables remote access, allowing owners to operate supported functions while away from home.

Apple Home can also provide shared accessory access to invited household members without requiring everyone to manage the vacuum through the same Eufy account.

## Can You Use the Omni S2 Without an Internet Connection?

Yes, in certain circumstances. Matter supports local communication, allowing compatible devices to exchange commands over a home network without routing every request through the manufacturer's cloud servers.

Once connected, basic Apple Home controls may continue working during an internet outage if the Omni S2, Wi-Fi network and Apple Home controller remain operational.

Here's what to expect:

- **Internet outage:** Local Matter commands should continue working if the home network remains operational.
- **Wi-Fi outage:** Apple Home cannot communicate with the robot over Wi-Fi.
- **Away from home:** Remote access requires internet connectivity and a compatible Apple Home hub.
- **Eufy cloud outage:** Local Matter commands may remain available, although cloud-dependent features could become unavailable.
- **No network connection:** Basic cleaning and docking functions may remain accessible through the robot's physical controls.

Matter's local connectivity doesn't guarantee every cleaning feature will remain available during an outage.

Actual behavior depends on the Omni S2's firmware, network configuration and Apple Home controller.

## What Features Are Missing From Apple Home?

Apple Home focuses on everyday cleaning commands rather than detailed robot vacuum management.

The Eufy app remains necessary for advanced functions such as:

- Creating and editing floor maps
- Adjusting room boundaries
- Creating no-go zones and virtual walls
- Customizing suction and mop moisture settings
- Configuring obstacle avoidance preferences
- Managing mop washing and drying
- Accessing detailed cleaning histories
- Installing firmware updates

The Omni S2 also includes specialized features that aren't part of standard Matter robot vacuum controls.

These include its HydroJet roller mop system, advanced cleaning customization and built-in fragrance dispenser.

Owners will need Eufy's app to configure these functions rather than relying on Apple Home.

## What if Your Omni S2 Won't Connect?

If the Matter option doesn't appear in the Eufy app, confirm that the robot has received the required firmware update.

If pairing fails, make sure the Omni S2 is online, Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone and both devices are connected to the home network.

Eufy also recommends checking that the Home app has permission to add accessories and that the appropriate Home and iCloud settings are enabled.

Restarting the robot, router or Apple Home hub may resolve temporary connection problems.

If the Omni S2 was previously connected to Apple Home, remove its old accessory entry and follow Eufy's instructions to generate a new pairing code.

A factory reset should be a last resort because it may affect saved maps and cleaning preferences.

## Is Apple Home Worth Using With the Omni S2?

For households already using Apple's smart home ecosystem, Matter provides another way to control the Omni S2 without opening Eufy's app for routine cleaning.

Siri commands, supported cleaning modes and home automations can simplify everyday tasks, while local communication offers an advantage during internet interruptions.

However, owners who regularly customize cleaning settings, manage floor maps or adjust the Omni S2's roller mop and dock maintenance will still need Eufy's software.

Apple Home adds convenience, but the manufacturer's app remains essential for taking full advantage of the Omni S2's cleaning features.
