# How to Connect Your Narwal Robot Vacuum to Google Home

Connecting your Narwal robot vacuum to Google Home lets you start cleaning, pause a task or send the robot back to its charging station by voice. Supported setups can also respond to room-cleaning requests.

First, connect the vacuum to the Narwal app and confirm that it responds there. Some instructions call the app Narwal Freo.

## What Do You Need Before Starting?

Have these items ready:

- A compatible robot that is online in the Narwal app.
- The sign-in information for the Narwal account that owns the robot.
- The Google Home app, signed in to the Google account you use for your home.
- A compatible Google or Nest smart speaker or display for voice commands.

Install available updates for both apps and the robot’s firmware. Then start and pause a cleanup in the Narwal app.

Narwal lists Google Home among its [supported voice-control platforms](https://support.narwal.com/hc/en-us/articles/37798634245645-What-Voice-Controls-Does-Narwal-Robot-Vacuum-Support?ref=vacubots.com), but check your model’s compatibility and regional instructions before linking.

## How Do You Connect Your Narwal to Google Home?

1. Open the Google Home app and tap **Add**.
2. Select **Link app or service**, then **Works with Google**. Older layouts may show **Set up device** instead.
3. Search for **Narwal** and select the official service identified in your robot’s integration instructions.
4. Sign in with the Narwal account that owns the robot.
5. Approve account linking and finish the prompts.
6. Choose the intended home and assign the vacuum to a room if prompted.
7. Open **Home**, then **All devices**, and look for the vacuum.

Some app versions offer **Add**, **Device**, then **Add a different way**. Google explains these routes in its [instructions for connecting third-party smart-home devices](https://support.google.com/googlehome/answer/9159862?hl=en&ref=vacubots.com).

If your Narwal app offers a Google Home or Google Assistant option under **Settings** and **Third Party Control**, you can follow its linking instructions instead. The available options may differ by model and region.

## Which Google Home Commands Can You Use?

Say **“Hey Google,”** followed by an instruction below. You can also use “OK Google” as the wake phrase.

| What You Want to Do | Say After “Hey Google” |
| ------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------- |
| Start cleaning | “Start cleaning.” |
| Pause cleaning | “Pause the vacuum.” |
| Resume cleaning | “Resume cleaning.” |
| Stop cleaning | “Stop cleaning.” |
| Return to the charging station | “Have the vacuum return to its charging station.” |
| Clean a mapped room, where supported | “Make the vacuum clean the kitchen.” |

These cover the control categories in [Narwal India’s Google Assistant guide](https://narwalindia.com/blogs/article/how-to-control-your-narwal-robot-vacuum-with-google-assistant?ref=vacubots.com), which provides more detailed command examples than Narwal’s U.S. voice-control overview. Treat them as requests to test with your model and account region.

For room cleaning, replace “kitchen” with a supported room name from your Narwal map. The regional guide also gives “clean the kitchen” as an alternative.

## How Can You Tell Whether Linking Worked?

Start with “Hey Google, start cleaning.” Watch the robot or check its status in the Narwal app, then test pausing and returning to the charging station.

Open the vacuum’s device entry in Google Home and try any available controls, too. A spoken acknowledgment alone does not prove that the robot performed the action.

Confirm that each command works before adding it to an automation.

## Does Assigning a Google Home Room Enable Room Cleaning?

No. Assigning the vacuum to “Kitchen” in Google Home organizes the device. It does not define the kitchen’s cleaning boundary.

Create and name mapped rooms in the Narwal app. Then check whether your model’s integration supports targeted cleaning and recognizes those room names.

If a room request starts a whole-home cleanup, stop the robot and check the naming instructions shown during account linking. Custom room names may not be recognized by every setup.

## Can You Choose Vacuuming, Mopping or Maintenance by Voice?

Do not assume that saying “vacuum” selects a vacuum-only task. Check the cleaning mode the robot actually starts, especially if you want to avoid mopping.

Keep suction, water flow, precise cleaning areas and dock-maintenance settings in the Narwal app unless your integration explicitly documents those controls.

The robot’s built-in voice assistant, where fitted, is separate from Google Home. Its command list does not establish what Google supports.

## What If Google Home Cannot Find or Control the Vacuum?

Try the Narwal app first. If the vacuum does not respond there, restore its connection before troubleshooting Google Home.

If it works in the Narwal app:

1. Confirm that you linked the account that owns the robot and selected the appropriate account region when prompted.
2. Check that Google Home is showing the intended Google account and home.
3. Say, “Hey Google, sync my devices,” then check the device list again.
4. If needed, open Google Home’s settings, find **Works with Google**, select Narwal and choose **Reconnect account**.

Google includes syncing and reconnecting in its [troubleshooting instructions for linked smart-home devices](https://support.google.com/googlehome/answer/7073578?hl=en&ref=vacubots.com).

Contact Narwal support if the integration is unavailable or the same error returns. Provide your model name, the command you tried and Google’s exact response. Use a factory reset only when Narwal’s troubleshooting instructions call for it.
