Roborock’s automated docks handle much of the work after a cleaning run, but owners still need to remove trapped hair, rinse washable parts and clear away dirty water.

This guide focuses on Roborock robot vacuums released in 2026. The main steps are similar, but mop assemblies and dock cleaning parts vary.

What Should You Do Before Cleaning?

Turn off the robot and unplug the dock before maintenance. Let hot washing and drying components cool.

Have a soft, dry cloth ready. Check the maintenance diagrams in your manual before removing parts. On roller-mop models, follow the instructions for removing the robot’s dirty-water tank before turning it over.

How Do You Clean the Brushes and Dustbin?

  1. Release the main brush cover and lift out the brushes.
  2. Remove hair and debris, including buildup around the brush ends and bearings.
  3. Check the side brush and wheels for tangled hair.
  4. Empty the robot’s dustbin and inspect its air openings.
  5. Reinstall the brushes and lock the cover securely.

If the washable filter needs cleaning, rinse it with water. Avoid scrubbing the filter material. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling it; follow the drying time in your manual.

How Do You Clean the Sensors?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the robot’s sensors and charging contacts. The manual identifies their locations.

Do not spray cleaner onto the robot or rinse its body.

What Needs Cleaning Around the Mop and Dock?

Empty and rinse the dock’s dirty-water tank. Remove debris from the washable tray, filter or maintenance brush specified in your manual.

Check the mop itself. Spinning pads, vibrating cloths and roller mops have different removal instructions. Roller models may also need their onboard dirty-water tank and removable water channel cleaned.

Reinstall all required parts before restoring power.

How Often Should You Check Everything?

As a practical starting routine, check for hair and debris weekly and empty dirty water after mopping. Follow your model’s maintenance schedule for deeper cleaning, and check more often if you have shedding pets or frequent cleaning runs.
