GaLaBau 2026 Wrap-Up: Robot Mowers Push Into AWD, LiDAR and Commercial Lawn Care
Robotic mower makers brought new AWD systems, improved edge cutting and new navigation technology to GaLaBau 2026 in Nuremberg.
Robot mower manufacturers followed IFA with another round of new hardware at GaLaBau 2026, with lidar navigation, all-wheel drive and improved edge cutting continuing to dominate upcoming models.
The landscaping show ran Sept. 15-18 in Nuremberg, Germany, with several manufacturers giving their 2027 residential mowers another outing while others introduced larger machines aimed at commercial properties.
For consumers, some of the more interesting products came from Roborock, TerraMow, NexLawn, Segway Navimow and Mammotion.
Roborock Updates Its Smaller Mower
Roborock brought the second-generation RockNeo Q2 LiDAR, giving its smaller mower a major navigation change.
The Q2 moves to Roborock's Sentisphere lidar system, which handles mapping without a perimeter wire or separate RTK antenna. Cameras are also used for obstacle avoidance.
That is a notable departure from the original RockNeo Q1, which relied on RTK and vision-based positioning.
Roborock has not announced pricing or specific regional launch dates for the Q2. The mower is listed on both the company's global and U.S. websites, although Roborock says availability will vary by region.
TerraMow Shows X AWD and Mini 500
TerraMow brought both ends of its mower lineup to GaLaBau, including the larger X AWD and the compact Mini 500.
The X AWD is built for larger and more difficult lawns, with all-wheel drive, six cameras and network RTK positioning. Its bidirectional mowing system allows the mower to reverse direction at the end of a pass instead of making a full turn.
The X AWD is currently listed at $3,299 in the United States, down from a stated $3,899 price.
At the other end of the lineup, the Mini 500 targets smaller lawns with a more compact design and camera-based navigation.
TerraMow has not announced broader retail pricing or launch details for the Mini 500.
NexLawn Expands Its 2027 Lineup
NexLawn brought several upcoming residential mowers, led by the Navia Pro AWD.
The Navia Pro combines all-wheel drive with network RTK, 3D lidar, cameras and time-of-flight sensors. Its most notable feature is a side-mounted cutting arm that extends toward walls and other lawn boundaries.
NexLawn also showed the smaller Vayor 600 and Vidar AWD models for midsize and larger lawns.
The company says the new lineup is scheduled to launch during the first half of 2027. Pricing has not been announced.
Navimow H5 Pro Targets Tougher Lawns
Segway Navimow continued demonstrating the H5 Pro after introducing it earlier this month at IFA.
The H5 Pro combines all-wheel drive with lidar, network RTK and cameras for navigation. An extending cutting arm moves the blade closer to walls and lawn boundaries.
Navimow says the mower can handle grades up to 80%.
The H5 Pro is expected to launch in early 2027. Pricing and specific launch regions have not been announced.
Mammotion Brings Luba 4 AWD
Mammotion also brought its upcoming Luba 4 AWD.
The biggest mechanical change is up front. Mammotion replaced the omni wheels found on earlier Luba models with independently steered front wheels.
The mower also combines lidar with four cameras and network RTK positioning. The Luba 4 AWD 3000F and 6000F will support an optional edge-trimming attachment, while the larger 12000F will not.
Mammotion plans to open preorders during the fourth quarter of 2026. Pricing and market-specific availability have not been announced.
Commercial Mowers Get Much Bigger
GaLaBau also highlighted how quickly robotic mowing is expanding beyond residential lawns.
Navimow, NexLawn, Pudu Robotics and PANDAG all brought machines designed for parks, sports fields, golf courses and other large properties.
Mammotion Shows Maston Commercial Mower
Mammotion also demonstrated Maston, its larger commercial robotic mower aimed at golf courses, sports fields and other large properties.
The mower is designed for professional turf maintenance and was shown operating on a putting-green-style demonstration area at GaLaBau.
Maston sits above Mammotion's residential Luba lineup and marks the company's push into larger commercial mowing equipment.
Mammotion has not announced public pricing or detailed regional launch timing for Maston.
Navimow Previews Terranox PM1400
Navimow previewed its upcoming Terranox PM1400, a larger commercial mower expected to reach select markets in early 2027.
Instead of one or two large cutting discs, the PM1400 uses five smaller discs spread across the cutting deck. The design allows the cutting system to better follow uneven ground.
Rear-wheel steering helps the larger mower make tighter turns, while the cutting deck can be lifted for easier access during maintenance.
Navimow has not announced pricing or complete specifications.
NexLawn Adds Aurion Commercial Mower
NexLawn also expanded beyond residential lawns with the Aurion F115.
The mower uses three cutting discs with a cutting width of roughly 23.6 inches. Navigation combines lidar, radar, cameras and network RTK.
NexLawn is also developing software that can manage fleets of more than 30 mowers for larger properties.
The Aurion is scheduled to launch during the first half of 2027. Pricing has not been announced.
Pudu Brings Three Commercial Mowers
Pudu Robotics brought its new GT Series after announcing the lineup earlier this month.
The GT3, GT5 and GT7 are designed for different types of commercial properties.
The GT3 combines mowing with grass collection and sweeping. The GT5 targets larger open turf areas, while the GT7 is designed for applications including golf courses and sports fields.
Pudu has not announced pricing or regional launch dates.
PANDAG G1 Moves Into Production
PANDAG brought its G1 commercial mower, which is already in production and shipping to commercial fleets.
The G1 uses lidar, cameras and RTK navigation and is available with either side- or rear-discharge cutting decks.
PANDAG is targeting golf courses, sports fields and other large properties, with demonstrations now expanding in Europe.
Public pricing has not been announced.
Robot Mowers Keep Evolving
GaLaBau did not deliver another wave of major launches after IFA, but it reinforced where robot mowers are heading.
Lidar is moving into more residential models, all-wheel drive is becoming increasingly common and manufacturers are improving edge cutting with extending blades, cutting arms and revised mower designs.
At the same time, robotic mowing is moving well beyond the backyard. Navimow, NexLawn, Pudu and PANDAG are all developing larger machines specifically for commercial properties.
With many of the new residential models scheduled for 2027, the next mowing season is shaping up to bring some of the biggest changes the category has seen in years.
