How to Set Up Dyson Cleaning Schedules and Saved Tasks

Plan regular cleanups and make your favorite room-cleaning jobs easier to repeat.

A schedule is most useful when it matches the way your home gets dirty. You can plan a regular kitchen cleanup without sending the robot through every bedroom each time.

These instructions focus on Dyson’s current Spot+Scrub Ai wet-and-dry robot. Older 360-series robots have different hardware and do not share its mopping dock.

What Is the Difference Between a Schedule and a Saved Task?

A schedule determines when a job starts. A saved task, routine or shortcut stores cleaning preferences for reuse, where your app offers that feature.

MyDyson can schedule specific rooms or zones by day and time. Keep the planned area and cleaning mode together when reviewing a job.

How Do You Add a Schedule?

  1. Open the robot in the MyDyson app.
  2. Find its scheduled-cleaning or routine controls.
  3. Add a job and select the start time and repeat days.
  4. Choose the supported rooms or area and cleaning mode.
  5. Save the entry and confirm that it is enabled.

Complete and review mapping before building a task around named rooms.

What Makes a Useful First Schedule?

Try one small, predictable job. For example, clean the kitchen after dinner on weekdays, allowing enough time for people to finish using the room.

Run the same task manually once before automating it. That checks the room selection, doorway access and cleaning preferences without waiting for the next scheduled time.

Can You Choose the Order of Rooms?

Use sequencing or multiple-task controls only if the app provides them. Tapping rooms in a particular order does not necessarily make the robot follow that sequence.

If order matters and the app does not offer it, separate jobs may be easier to manage. Avoid overlapping start times.

What Should You Check Before the Robot Starts?

Leave the robot charged, open the required doors and remove loose items. For wet cleaning, check water and mop readiness. Review quiet-hour settings that may affect dock operations or charging-related behavior.

What If the Job Stops Running Correctly?

Check the selected days, enabled status and any error message. Review room selections after renaming, splitting or remapping rooms.

If the problem is timing, check the robot’s time settings where available before deleting the whole schedule.
