When to Replace Roomba Brushes, Filters, Mops and Dust Supplies
Use wear, maintenance prompts and the correct compatibility listing when buying replacement parts.
A maintenance reminder is a good reason to inspect an accessory. It is not proof that every brush, filter and mop wears at the same rate in every home.
These instructions focus on newer Roombas that use the Roomba Home app. Older robots using iRobot Home (Classic) have different controls and care instructions.
Which Replacement Schedule Should You Follow?
Use the maintenance guidance for the newer Roomba family you own. Do not carry over fixed replacement dates or washable-filter advice from another brand.
Use the schedule for the exact robot and component. Frequent cleaning, heavy shedding and damaged parts can change what you need. Clean away debris before mistaking a tangled brush for a worn-out one.
When Does a Brush Need Replacing?
Look for torn rubber, broken arms, excessive wear or missing bristles. Check main-brush ends and side-brush attachments as well as the surface that touches the floor.
Remove trapped hair and reinstall the brush before judging whether it still works correctly. Replace a physically damaged part even if its reminder has not expired.

What About the Filter?
Check the prescribed care method first. Some filters can be washed; others require dry cleaning and replacement. Do not assume a filter is washable because its plastic housing is.
Replace damaged media or a filter that remains a problem after approved care. Allow washable parts to dry fully before reuse.
When Should You Replace the Mop?
Inspect for tears, poor attachment, uneven contact or residue that remains after proper cleaning. Use the replacement specified for a pad, roller or moving mop track rather than a similar-looking accessory.

Do You Need a New Dust Bag?
The Roomba name spans many incompatible parts. Mini uses disposable mopping wipes, while other models use reusable pads or rollers. Match the full robot and dock model when buying a filter, mop accessory, bag or cleaning concentrate.
Inspect storage when collection weakens. A claimed maximum number of days is not a promise for every home’s dirt load.
How Do You Order and Reset Reminders?
Confirm the full model and part number through iRobot’s accessory listing or a model-matched parts finder. After installation, update the relevant maintenance counter if the app provides it.
Reset only the item you actually serviced, so the remaining reminders stay useful.
