Matic Not Charging? How to Check the Robot and Dock

Inspect dock power, charging contacts and the status light before seeking service.

Matic’s compact dock charges the robot. It does not auto-empty debris, refill water or wash and dry the mop, so those jobs should not be treated as failed dock functions.

This guide follows Matic’s current charging troubleshooting instructions.

Does the Dock Have Power?

Check that its power cable is firmly connected at the dock and wall outlet. Matic says the dock light should be white when it has power.

If there is no light, try another working outlet. Contact support if the dock remains unlit.

Are the Charging Pads Clean?

Disconnect power before wiping the contacts. Use a dry cloth on the dock pads and the robot’s charging contacts.

Check that the dock’s spring pads move normally. A stuck or recessed pad needs support attention rather than forceful bending.

Reconnect the dock and seat Matic again.

What Does the Dock Light Mean?

In Matic’s charging guide, green means the dock detects the robot and charging is on. White means it is not detecting the robot for charging.

Other error colors need support guidance. An alternating green and white light can be normal when Matic is fully charged but switched off.

Use these meanings for the current dock rather than another brand’s indicator colors.

What If Matic Turns On and Immediately Stops?

The battery may be critically low. Matic’s guidance says to leave it on the dock for at least 30 minutes before trying again.

If it remains unresponsive, contact support with the dock-light behavior and any screen or fan activity.

Why Doesn’t the Dock Empty the Bag?

Waste collection happens inside Matic’s HEPA bag, which the owner replaces. Water refills and mop care also happen at the robot rather than an auto-maintenance station.

A full-bag or wringer alert therefore needs the corresponding robot-care procedure.

What Should You Send Support?

Include whether the dock powers on, its color with and without Matic, and whether reseating the robot changes the result. Those observations are more useful than repeatedly rebooting a robot with no confirmed charging connection.
