Matic Not Picking Up Dirt? Here’s What to Check

Inspect the HEPA bag, brush roll and cleaning path before changing your routine.

If Matic leaves dry debris behind, first check whether it traveled over the area. A missed corner and a blocked debris path require different troubleshooting.

This guide covers the current Matic’s owner-accessible checks.

Is the Cleaning Task Correct?

Select a dry-cleaning task for a simple pickup test. Choose a small affected area and watch whether Matic reaches it.

If it avoids the area, inspect the selected map, no-go areas and obstacles before treating the problem as weak suction.

Does the HEPA Bag Need Attention?

Read the app’s bag message and inspect the bag according to Matic’s instructions. Replace a bag that is full, damaged or otherwise requires replacement.

Matic’s bag is inside the robot. There is no dock bag to empty instead, and washing the HEPA bag is not an alternative to replacement.

After fitting a new bag, make sure it is installed correctly and the lid is sealed.

Is the Brush Roll Clear?

Stop the robot. Remove the water tank and HEPA bag before placing Matic on its side as directed.

Inspect the brush roll for trapped hair, correct installation and wear. Check the visible wear indicator before deciding it still has useful life.

Follow the brush-specific guide if the app reports a missing, misinserted or jammed roll.

What If the App Reports a Clogged Duct?

Use Matic’s instructions for that exact error. Clear only the accessible obstruction the guide identifies; do not push an object deeper into the machine.

Contact support when the indicated path is clear but the same message returns.

Should You Change Cleaning Intensity?

Once the bag and brush are in order, compare the available cleaning preferences in the same small area. A more thorough task may help with remaining debris, but it cannot fix a full bag or an incorrectly installed roll.

What Information Helps Support?

Include the error wording, the floor type and whether the issue began after replacing a part. The distinction between skipped coverage and debris left after a pass will help narrow the next step.
