MOVA Z60 Ultra Complete: How Low Can It Go?
Pet hair finds its way under just about everything. Here’s how the Z60’s retractable lidar helped me reach it.
If you have a heavily shedding pet, you already know: If there’s room for hair to get somewhere, it will get there. Under the bed, behind the coffee table, beneath the bookcase — our furry family members are very good at finding places for us to clean.
That’s why I wanted to take a closer look at the MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller Complete’s FlexiScope Navigation. The name sounds technical, but the benefit is simple: The lidar turret lowers so the robot can fit under furniture that would otherwise block it.
How Much Difference Does the Lowered Turret Make?
The bookcase in these photos has just 4 inches of clearance. That’s too low for the Z60 with its lidar turret raised, but low enough for it to get underneath once the turret retracts.
The heights I listed in my original post were 4.68 inches with the turret raised and 3.77 inches with it lowered. In this case, that difference was enough to turn a hiding place for pet hair into part of the cleaning route.

What Does It Do Before Going Underneath?
In this run, the Z60 identified the low opening and made a full turn before lowering the turret. With the top tucked down, it was ready to head beneath the bookcase.
I’ve included the photos because it’s much easier to appreciate the difference when you can see the raised and lowered positions next to each other.
Can It Still Move Around Under There?
Yes — under this bookcase, it could turn and maneuver in the available space. One detail I liked was the front light coming on while the turret was lowered. You can see it lighting up the floor in the photos.

This is the part that matters to me. With shedding pets and a long-haired person in the house, being able to reach beneath furniture is useful every time the robot cleans, not just during a demonstration.
What Happens When It Comes Back Out?
Right before leaving, the Z60 stopped and raised its side brush. It then came out with the turret still lowered, made another full turn and raised the turret again before continuing its cleaning.
I liked watching that sequence. It went from squeezing beneath the bookcase to cleaning the open floor without me having to step in.

What Should You Check With Your Own Furniture?
Measure the lowest part of the opening, including braces or fabric hanging underneath, and watch the first run. My 4-inch bookcase worked, but a crossbar or an uneven floor can change the space the robot actually has.
For my household, this has been a big help. Pet hair will still find its way under the furniture. At least now the robot can follow it.
