How to Connect Your Dreame Robot Vacuum to Google Home

Link your robot’s account, confirm the connection and check which cleaning controls are available.

Connecting your Dreame robot vacuum to Google Home lets you start a cleanup, pause the robot or send it back to its dock by voice. Available controls depend on your model and region, so test the commands before building a cleaning automation around them.

These instructions cover robots registered in the Dreamehome app.

What Do You Need Before Starting?

Make sure you have:

  • A compatible robot that is online in the Dreamehome app.
  • The sign-in information for the Dreamehome account that owns the robot.
  • The Google Home app, signed in to the Google account you use for your home.
  • A compatible Google or Nest smart speaker or display for voice commands.

Install available updates for both apps and the robot’s firmware. Then start and pause a cleanup in Dreamehome to confirm that the robot responds. Wait for any firmware update to finish before linking accounts or testing commands.

Which Service Should You Choose?

Select Dreamehome if that is the app where you registered your vacuum. Dreame identifies that service in its Google Home connection instructions.

Pay attention to the service name rather than choosing the first Dreame-related result. A similarly named service may accept different account credentials or support a different set of devices.

If your robot is registered only in Mi Home or Xiaomi Home, check Dreame’s instructions for that app and model before proceeding. Signing in to a separate Dreamehome account will not automatically transfer the robot.

How Do You Connect Your Dreame to Google Home?

  1. Open the Google Home app and tap Add.
  2. Select Link app or service, then Works with Google. Older layouts may show Set up device instead.
  3. Search for Dreamehome and select its official service.
  4. Sign in with the Dreamehome account that owns the robot.
  5. Approve the account link and follow the prompts to finish setup.
  6. Choose the intended home and assign the vacuum to a room if prompted.
  7. Open Home, then All devices, and look for your vacuum.

Some app versions offer Add, Device, then Add a different way. Search for Dreamehome and follow the account-linking prompts. Google explains these routes in its instructions for connecting third-party smart-home devices.

Which Google Home Commands Can You Use?

Speak to your Google or Nest speaker or display. Dreame’s North American support team provided the following command categories in a response to an X40 Ultra owner asking about Google Home controls.

These are documented examples to test, rather than a guarantee that every Dreame model supports every request.

What You Want to DoWhat to Say
Start cleaning“Hey Google, start vacuuming.”
Pause cleaning“Hey Google, pause vacuuming.”
Resume cleaning“Hey Google, resume vacuuming.”
Stop cleaning“Hey Google, stop vacuuming.”
Return to the dock“Hey Google, dock Dreame Bot.”
Clean a mapped room, where supported“Hey Google, clean the kitchen.”
Request information about the robot’s whereabouts“Hey Google, where is my Dreame Bot?”

Replace “kitchen” with a supported room name from your Dreamehome map. Where a command names the robot, use its name as shown in Google Home.

The location request does not establish support for a tracking map or an audible finding signal. Check the robot’s response to see what information your setup provides.

Do not assume that commands for suction, water flow, mop washing, drying or dust collection are available through Google Home simply because they work in Dreamehome, Alexa or the robot’s built-in voice assistant.

How Can You Tell Whether Linking Worked?

Start with “Hey Google, start vacuuming.” Watch the robot or check its status in Dreamehome, then test pausing and returning to the dock.

You can also open the vacuum’s device entry in Google Home and try any available controls. Google notes that some connected devices display their status without offering app controls, so a missing button does not necessarily mean linking failed.

Confirm that each command performs the intended action before adding it to an automation.

Does Assigning a Google Home Room Enable Room Cleaning?

No. Assigning the vacuum to “Kitchen” in Google Home organizes the device. It does not define the kitchen’s cleaning boundary.

Create and name rooms on the vacuum’s map in Dreamehome. Then check whether your model’s Google Home integration supports targeted cleaning.

Custom room names and named cleaning zones may have additional limits. If Google does not recognize one, try a standard room name offered in Dreamehome or ask Dreame support which names your model supports.

What If Google Home Cannot Find or Control the Vacuum?

Try the Dreamehome app first. If the vacuum does not respond there, restore its connection before troubleshooting Google Home.

If it works in Dreamehome:

  1. Confirm that you selected Dreamehome and linked the account that owns the robot.
  2. Check that Google Home is showing the correct Google account and home.
  3. Say, “Hey Google, sync my devices,” then check the device list again.
  4. If needed, find Works with Google in Google Home’s settings, select Dreamehome and choose Reconnect account.

Google includes syncing and reconnecting in its troubleshooting instructions for linked smart-home devices.

If the robot appears but Google misunderstands its name, give it a short, distinctive name in Google Home.

Contact Dreame support if the service is unavailable for your model or the same linking error returns. Provide the model name and exact error message. A factory reset should not be the first step for a Google Home linking problem; use it when Dreame’s troubleshooting instructions call for it.
