How to Connect Your Ecovacs Deebot Robot Vacuum to Amazon Alexa
Link your robot’s account, confirm the connection and check which cleaning controls are available.
Connecting your Ecovacs Deebot to Alexa lets you start cleaning, pause a task or send the robot back to its dock by voice. Depending on your model, you may also be able to request a particular room, check the battery level or change suction power.
First, complete setup in ECOVACS HOME and confirm that the Deebot responds there.
What Do You Need Before Starting?
Have these items ready:
- A compatible Deebot that is online in ECOVACS HOME.
- The sign-in information for the Ecovacs account that owns the robot.
- The Amazon Alexa app, signed in to the Amazon account you use for Alexa.
- An Alexa-enabled device, such as an Echo speaker or Echo Show, for voice commands.
Install available updates for both apps and the robot’s firmware. Then start and pause a cleanup in ECOVACS HOME.
Check compatibility for your model and country. An older supported-model list may not cover newer Deebots or every account region.
Which Alexa Skill Should You Choose?
Select Ecovacs Deebot, published by ECOVACS ROBOTICS. You can check the name and developer on the official U.S. Alexa skill listing.
Use your Ecovacs credentials when linking the robot account. Your Amazon sign-in identifies your Alexa account; your Ecovacs sign-in gives the skill access to the registered Deebot.
How Do You Connect Your Deebot to Alexa?
- Open the Amazon Alexa app.
- Tap More, then Skills & Games.
- Search for Ecovacs Deebot and open the official skill.
- Tap Enable to Use.
- Sign in with the Ecovacs account that owns the robot.
- Select the appropriate country or account region and Deebot if prompted, then approve linking.
- Follow the prompts to discover devices.
- Open Devices and look for your vacuum.
If discovery does not start, say, “Alexa, discover my devices,” or open Devices and select Add Device.
Ecovacs describes account linking and discovery in its U.S. Alexa setup guide. Follow the current prompts if your app’s menu labels differ.

Which Alexa Commands Can You Use?
Begin each request with “Alexa, ask Deebot …” and finish with the wording below.
Cleaning and Docking Commands
| What You Want to Do | Finish the Request With |
|---|---|
| Start cleaning | “To start cleaning.” |
| Start vacuuming | “To start vacuuming.” |
| Start mopping, where supported | “To start mopping.” |
| Stop cleaning | “To stop cleaning.” |
| Pause cleaning | “To pause cleaning.” |
| Resume cleaning | “To resume cleaning.” |
| Return to the dock | “To return to dock.” |
Ecovacs also documents “stop vacuuming,” “stop mopping,” “pause vacuuming” and “pause mopping.” For docking, “return to the charging dock” is another published option.
Start, stop, pause, resume and status examples appear in Ecovacs’ Alexa support instructions. Additional commands appear in the skill listing.
Status, Battery and Location Requests
| What You Want to Check | Finish the Request With |
|---|---|
| Current status | “For its current status.” |
| Remaining cleaning time, where supported | “How much longer until it’s done?” |
| Remaining battery power | “How much power is remaining?” |
| Robot location | “Where it is?” |
Check the robot’s response rather than assuming a location request provides a map or activates a finding sound.
Room-Cleaning Commands
For supported models with mapped rooms, examples include:
- “Alexa, ask Deebot to vacuum the guest room.”
- “Alexa, ask Deebot to clean bedroom.”
Use a room name from your ECOVACS HOME map. Check that the robot cleans the intended room rather than starting a whole-home task.
Suction Commands
The skill listing includes these settings requests:
- Quiet: “Alexa, ask Deebot to clean in quiet mode.”
- Standard: “Alexa, ask Deebot to change vacuum power to standard.”
- Maximum: “Alexa, tell Deebot to set suction power to max on Rosie.”
In the maximum-power example, replace “Rosie” with your robot’s name. Request only suction settings your model supports.
These sections cover the documented control categories, including resuming, locating, checking status and battery power, room cleaning and suction adjustment. They do not establish that every command works with every Deebot.
How Do You Choose a Particular Robot?
Give each Deebot a distinct name in ECOVACS HOME. The skill documents named-device commands such as:
- “Alexa, ask Deebot to start vacuuming with Rosie.”
- “Alexa, ask Deebot to pause vacuuming with Rosie.”
- “Alexa, ask Deebot to start charging with Rosie.”
Replace “Rosie” with your robot’s name. Keep “Deebot” in the request when using this documented command pattern.
How Can You Tell Whether Linking Worked?
Say, “Alexa, ask Deebot to start cleaning.” Watch the robot or check its status in ECOVACS HOME. Then test pausing and returning to the dock.
If Alexa offers on-screen controls for the vacuum, try those too. Confirm that the robot performs each action; a spoken acknowledgment alone does not prove that the command worked.
Test commands individually before adding them to an Alexa routine.

Does Assigning an Alexa Room Enable Room Cleaning?
No. Assigning the vacuum to an Alexa room organizes the smart-home device. It does not define a cleaning boundary.
Create and name mapped rooms in ECOVACS HOME, then test targeted voice cleaning if your model supports it.
YIKO, the built-in assistant on compatible Deebots, is separate from Alexa. Its furniture-specific, scheduling and maintenance commands do not automatically become available through the Ecovacs Alexa skill.
What If Alexa Cannot Find or Control the Deebot?
Try ECOVACS HOME first. If the robot does not respond there, restore its connection before troubleshooting Alexa.
If it works in ECOVACS HOME:
- Confirm that you enabled Ecovacs Deebot and linked the account that owns the robot.
- Check that you selected the correct account region when prompted.
- Make sure your Echo is online and uses the Amazon account you linked.
- Try a basic command using the full “Alexa, ask Deebot” wording.
- Run discovery again if the integration requests it.
- If the connection still fails, disable and re-enable the skill, then link the accounts again.
Contact Ecovacs support if the skill is unavailable or the same error returns. Provide your model name, the command you tried and Alexa’s exact response. Use a factory reset only when Ecovacs’ troubleshooting instructions call for it.
