How to Use Ecovacs' "OK, YIKO" Voice Assistant and Its AI Agent Features
Learn how to use Ecovacs' YIKO voice assistant, including cleaning commands, compatible Deebot models, setup and AGENT YIKO cleaning preferences.
Ecovacs' built-in YIKO voice assistant lets owners start cleaning, send their Deebot robot vacuum to specific rooms and control certain dock functions without opening the Ecovacs Home app.
The assistant responds to "OK, YIKO" and is available in several versions, including YIKO 2.0 and YIKO-GPT. Newer models also offer AGENT YIKO, an AI system that can develop cleaning plans based on household routines and preferences.
What Voice Commands Does Ecovacs YIKO Support?
Ecovacs documents the following voice commands and functions for compatible Deebot models.
- Start cleaning
- Clean the entire house
- Clean a specific room
- Return to the charging station
- Leave the charging station
- Increase suction power
- Start mapping
- Start docking station self-cleaning
- Turn off Child Lock
- Change cleaning settings
These are supported functions rather than a complete list of exact spoken phrases. Available commands depend on the model, assistant version and firmware.
Owners can find their robot's current commands in the Ecovacs Home app under YIKO's voice skills.

Additional Models With YIKO Voice Control
- Ecovacs Deebot T50S Pro Omni
Ecovacs also offers AGENT YIKO on the X11 series and T90 series. The company specifically advertises the newer AGENT YIKO 2.0 system on the X12 family.
These model groups reflect Ecovacs' published U.S. specifications and feature descriptions. They should not be treated as proof that every robot supports identical commands or Agent Hosting functions.
Some other Ecovacs models support Alexa or Google Assistant without including the same built-in YIKO capabilities.
How to Activate YIKO
Before using voice commands, the robot must be powered on and connected to the Ecovacs Home app.
- Download Ecovacs Home from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Add your Deebot and follow the instructions to connect it to Wi-Fi.
- Open the robot's control page in the app.
- Tap the YIKO icon and open Settings.
- Enable the voice assistant if necessary.
Once enabled, say "OK, YIKO" followed by a supported command.
For example, "OK, YIKO, start cleaning" tells the robot to begin cleaning.
A separate Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant speaker is not required.
Cleaning Specific Rooms and Areas
YIKO allows owners of compatible models to request cleaning in individual rooms instead of starting a whole-home cleaning session.
For example, owners can try saying "OK, YIKO, clean the kitchen."
The robot needs a completed map with correctly identified rooms for this function to work. Room divisions and names can be adjusted in Ecovacs Home.
Some models also support more detailed natural-language requests through YIKO-GPT, although the available instructions depend on the software version.
Changing Cleaning Modes and Settings
YIKO supports adjustments to cleaning behavior, including suction power.
Compatible Deebot models offer different combinations of vacuum-only, mop-only, simultaneous vacuuming and mopping, and vacuuming followed by mopping.
Owners can configure these modes and additional settings through Ecovacs Home.
Not every setting can necessarily be changed by voice, so the app's voice skills menu remains the best reference for each model.
What Is AGENT YIKO?
AGENT YIKO adds automated cleaning management to Ecovacs' voice-control system.
Rather than relying entirely on individual instructions, it analyzes information about the home's layout, cleaning history and owner preferences to develop cleaning strategies.
Ecovacs introduced AGENT YIKO on the X11 generation and offers the newer AGENT YIKO 2.0 system on the X12 family.
The system can adjust cleaning routes, suction and water flow based on its analysis.
AGENT YIKO is separate from basic voice commands. A robot can support YIKO voice control without offering the same autonomous cleaning features.
How to Set Cleaning Preferences With AGENT YIKO
Compatible models allow owners to enter natural-language cleaning preferences through Ecovacs Home.
- Open Ecovacs Home and select your robot.
- Enter Agent Hosting.
- Tap the YIKO icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select My Preferences.
- Speak or type a cleaning preference.
- Tap Adopt to save it or Refresh to generate another interpretation.
For example, owners can request that the robot avoid cleaning a bedroom after 10 p.m.
Saved preferences appear in the app and can be removed by unchecking them and tapping Save.
Ecovacs says Agent Hosting requires a completed map and at least one basic cleaning task before the feature becomes available.
These instructions apply to models with the corresponding Agent Hosting interface, not every YIKO-equipped robot.
Controlling Dock Maintenance
YIKO supports docking station commands on compatible robots, including returning to charge and starting station self-cleaning.
Available maintenance operations depend on the dock. Some Ecovacs stations automatically empty the dustbin, wash mop pads or rollers, and dry the mopping system.
Models without the required hardware cannot perform those tasks, even if they support YIKO voice control.
What If YIKO Doesn't Understand a Command?
If the robot doesn't respond, confirm that YIKO is enabled and the robot is powered on.
Try moving closer, reducing background noise and speaking clearly. Ecovacs' general YIKO guidance lists a voice activation range of up to 5 meters, although actual performance depends on the surroundings.
If the assistant responds but doesn't complete the request, check the voice skills menu for the correct wording.
Room-specific cleaning also requires a completed map, while other functions may depend on the robot's hardware or current operating status.
Check for firmware and app updates, particularly when a previously working command stops responding.
