How to Connect Your Mova Robot Vacuum to Google Home

Connecting your Mova robot vacuum to Google Home lets you start cleaning, pause a task or send the robot back to its dock by voice. Compatible setups also support room-cleaning requests and questions about the robot’s whereabouts.

First, finish setup in MOVAhome and confirm that the vacuum responds there. These instructions cover Mova robot vacuums, rather than the company’s robotic mowers.

What Do You Need Before Starting?

Have these items ready:

  • A compatible robot that is online in MOVAhome.
  • The sign-in information for the MOVAhome account that owns the robot.
  • The Google Home app, signed in to the Google account you use for your home.
  • A compatible Google or Nest smart speaker or display for voice commands.

Install available updates for both apps and the robot’s firmware. Then start and pause a cleanup in MOVAhome to confirm that the robot responds.

Check compatibility for your model and country if you are unsure whether Google Home is supported.

Which Service Should You Choose?

Use the Google Home integration indicated in MOVAhome for your vacuum. Search for MOVAhome when linking through Google Home, and check that the service matches your robot’s instructions.

Use your MOVAhome account credentials. Another brand’s account will not substitute for the account where your robot is registered, even if the apps look similar.

If several Mova-related services appear, check the Voice Control section in MOVAhome before choosing one.

How Do You Connect Through MOVAhome?

Mova support identifies an app-based starting point in its Google Home setup guidance:

  1. Open MOVAhome.
  2. Select Me, then Voice Control.
  3. Choose Google Home.
  4. Follow the prompts to link accounts and approve access.
  5. Return to Google Home and check for the vacuum.

Menu wording may differ by model or app version. Follow the current prompts for your robot.

How Do You Connect Through Google Home?

If your robot’s instructions direct you to Google Home:

  1. Open the Google Home app and tap Add.
  2. Select Link app or service, then Works with Google. Older layouts may show Set up device instead.
  3. Search for MOVAhome and select the official service identified by your robot’s voice-control instructions.
  4. Sign in with the MOVAhome account that owns the robot and approve linking.
  5. Complete the prompts and choose the intended home.
  6. Open Home, then All devices, and look for the vacuum.

Some layouts offer Add, Device, then Add a different way. Google explains these options in its instructions for connecting third-party smart-home devices.

Which Google Home Commands Can You Use?

Say “Hey Google,” followed by an instruction below. These cover all seven command categories Mova Academy supplied in its official forum response about Google Home voice commands.

What You Want to DoSay After “Hey Google”
Start cleaning“Start vacuuming.”
Pause cleaning“Pause vacuuming.”
Resume cleaning“Resume vacuuming.”
Stop cleaning“Stop vacuuming.”
Return to the dock to charge“Recharge Mova Bot.”
Clean a mapped room, where supported“Start vacuuming the kitchen.”
Ask about the robot’s whereabouts“Where is my Mova Bot?”

Replace “kitchen” with a supported room name from your MOVAhome map. Where a command names the robot, use the name recognized by your integration.

The list provides documented examples, rather than a guarantee that every command works with every Mova model or account region. Check what your robot actually does after each request.

Can Google Home Start MOVAhome Shortcuts?

Mova’s published command response says Google Home and Alexa do not support starting MOVAhome shortcuts by voice. Start those saved cleaning tasks in MOVAhome unless your model’s current instructions explicitly document another option.

Likewise, do not assume Google Home supports suction changes, water settings or dock-maintenance requests simply because they are available in MOVAhome.

How Can You Tell Whether Linking Worked?

Say, “Hey Google, start vacuuming.” Watch the robot or check its status in MOVAhome. Then test pausing and returning to the dock.

Open the vacuum’s device entry in Google Home and try any available controls, too. Confirm that each action works before adding it to an automation.

Mova’s built-in voice assistant, where fitted, has a separate command system. A request working directly with the robot does not establish Google Home support.

Does Assigning a Google Home Room Enable Room Cleaning?

No. Assigning the vacuum to “Kitchen” in Google Home organizes the device. It does not define the kitchen’s cleaning boundary.

Create and name mapped rooms in MOVAhome, then test a targeted cleaning command if your setup supports it. If the robot starts a whole-home cleanup instead, stop it and check the room name and model-specific instructions.

What If Google Home Cannot Find or Control the Vacuum?

Try MOVAhome first. If the robot does not respond there, restore its connection before troubleshooting Google Home.

If it works in MOVAhome:

  1. Confirm that you linked the correct service and the account that owns the robot.
  2. Check that Google Home is showing the intended Google account and home.
  3. Say, “Hey Google, sync my devices,” then check the device list again.
  4. If needed, open Google Home’s settings, find Works with Google, select the linked Mova service and choose Reconnect account.

Google includes syncing and reconnecting in its troubleshooting instructions for linked smart-home devices.

Contact Mova support if the service is unavailable or the same linking error returns. Provide your model name, the command you tried and Google’s exact response. Use a factory reset only when Mova’s troubleshooting instructions call for it.
