MOVA LiDAX Firmware Update Adds Real Maps and Battery Health

MOVA is rolling out firmware version 4.3.6_0480 for its LiDAX Ultra AWD robotic lawn mowers, bringing a more detailed property map along with battery management and obstacle recognition changes.

Real-Scene Map Arrives

The new real-scene map gives owners more visual context around their mowing zones.

On our LiDAX Ultra 3000 AWD, the MOVAhome app now shows the lawn, driveway, landscaping and other parts of the property, making boundaries easier to place against recognizable features.

The LiDAX Ultra 3000 AWD uses MOVA's UltraView 2.0 system, which combines 3D lidar with a 1080p HDR camera for mapping and navigation.

The new real-scene view appears to build on that camera-based environmental data.

Battery Health Management Added

MOVA also lists a new battery health management feature, although the release notes do not explain exactly how it works.

Battery management has been an area of concern for some LiDAX owners. Users have reported high standby power consumption while the mower is docked, which can cause the battery to discharge and recharge without completing a mowing cycle.

MOVA has since been working on changes to reduce standby power use, including controls related to how the drive wheels are powered or locked at the charging station.

The company also lists improved obstacle recognition and bug fixes in the update.

MOVAhome Plug-In Version 3.7.0

Our LiDAX Ultra 3000 AWD is running plug-in version 3.7.0 in the MOVAhome app.

Firmware 4.3.6_0480 is being delivered as an over-the-air update through MOVAhome.
