Anker MindBase Uses Cameras and AI to Decide When Robot Vacuums Should Clean
Anker says its new MindBase AI hub could use connected cameras and sensors to understand when a room is occupied, delay robot vacuum cleaning and store vacuum maps locally.
I’d tighten it by merging the “looks beyond the robot’s sensors” and “TrueSmart Agent” sections, and by making it clear Anker described the use case during the keynote rather than demonstrating it live.
Anker MindBase Could Use Cameras to Decide When Robot Vacuums Should Clean
Anker is developing a smart home system that could use connected cameras and sensors to determine when a robot vacuum should clean instead of relying on a fixed schedule.
During its IFA 2026 keynote, Anker used cleaning as an example of how its new MindBase AI hub could understand what is happening inside a home. If people or guests are still using the living room, the system could wait until they leave before sending the robot in to clean.
MindBase can also store maps created by robot vacuums locally, giving the system access to a home’s layout without relying on cloud storage.
MindBase Adds More Context to Cleaning
Anker says MindBase can combine information from connected sensors, cameras and what it already knows about the household before deciding what should happen next.
For cleaning, that could give a robot vacuum context beyond what its own onboard sensors can detect. A Eufy security camera, for example, could tell MindBase that people are still in a room before the robot starts cleaning.
Anker calls this a content-aware smart home, where devices respond to what is happening instead of simply following individual schedules and commands.
MindBase uses Anker’s TrueSmart Agent system to make those decisions. Rather than relying on one AI model, Anker describes it as a group of specialized agents that can work together across different parts of the home.
Processing runs locally on MindBase’s AI Core.
Robot Vacuum Maps Stay Local
MindBase also functions as a network-attached storage system through what Anker calls EverSafe Memory.
During the keynote, Anker said the system can store data generated by connected devices, including maps created by robot vacuums.
Keeping those maps alongside information from cameras and other sensors could eventually give cleaning agents a more complete picture of where and when a robot should clean.

EasyOmni Link Connects Anker and Matter Devices
Anker’s EasyOmni Link connects MindBase with more than 100 Anker devices and hundreds of Matter-compatible products.
That gives MindBase a path to pull together information from security cameras, sensors and cleaning devices instead of treating each one as a separate system.
Pricing and Availability
Anker has not announced pricing or a release date for MindBase.
The company also has not said which existing Eufy robot vacuums, if any, will support the context-aware cleaning features announced today.
