Dreame Not Picking Up Dirt? Here’s What to Check

Work through the mode, bin, filter and brushes when dry debris stays on the floor.

Poor pickup and missed coverage are different problems. First check whether the robot passed over the debris. If it never reached the area, start with the map and access rather than suction.

These instructions focus on current Dreame robot vacuums, including the 2026 X60 series. Regional models and app options can differ.

Is the Robot Performing the Right Task?

Check that the robot is performing a vacuuming task rather than mopping alone. On a model with lifting brushes, their behavior during wet cleaning can differ from a dry pickup run.

Select a dry vacuuming task for a simple test. A mop-only job is not a reliable way to judge the vacuum’s pickup.

Is the Robot’s Dust Storage Clear?

Stop the task and inspect the robot’s dustbin or debris container. Empty it using the prescribed method and check the accessible inlet for a clump of hair.

A larger dock container can still have room while the robot’s smaller container is blocked. If debris repeatedly stays in the robot after docking, investigate collection separately.

Does the Filter Need Attention?

Clean the filter only as its manual allows. The X60 support guide describes rinsing the dustbin filter and letting it air-dry for 24 hours before reinstalling it.

Check for damage as well as dust. Never operate the robot with a required filter missing, and do not reinstall a washed component while it is damp.

Are the Brushes Installed Correctly?

Turn the robot off and prepare it for underside inspection according to the manual. Remove hair from the main brush ends and check the side brush.

Reinstall bearings, end caps and the brush cover correctly. A loose cover or worn brush can affect pickup even when the motor sounds normal.

Should You Change the Settings?

After maintenance, try a stronger suction setting or another pass if offered. Test the same small area so the result is easy to compare.

If the robot avoids the area, review no-go zones, carpet handling and obstacles instead. Extra suction will not fix a blocked doorway or an excluded zone.

When Is Support the Next Step?

Contact Dreame support if the same fault remains after accessible parts are clear and correctly installed. Include the model, floor type, cleaning mode and any error message or unusual sound.
