IFA 2026: xLean and Hizero Show Off Two Unusual Floor-Cleaning Robots
xLean and Hizero brought two very different approaches to floor cleaning to IFA 2026, with xLean showing its transformable TR1 and EvoMate OS while Hizero focused on its suction-free hard-floor cleaning system.
IFA 2026 brought another look at two of the more unusual floor-cleaning robots we first saw at CES earlier this year.
xLean Robotics returned with its TR1, while Hizero showed the Glide R700. Neither was a new reveal for Berlin, but what made them worth another look was how far both designs stray from the usual robot vacuum formula.
xLean TR1 Combines a Robot and Handheld Cleaner
The xLean TR1 is an autonomous hard-floor cleaner with a removable cleaning unit that can also be used as a handheld wet-dry cleaner.
The idea is to let the robot handle routine floor cleaning, while still giving owners a way to take over for spills or messes that are easier to clean manually.
The TR1 uses two wide rollers that spin at up to 400 rpm, along with a fresh-water system that continually rinses the rollers as they work. Suction is rated at up to 17,000 Pa.
It is designed for hard floors rather than carpet.
xLean Also Showed Its Software
xLean used IFA to demonstrate its EvoMate OS and EvoMind software running on the TR1.
The robot uses lidar, an RGB-D camera and other sensors for navigation and object detection. A dirt sensor can also change cleaning behavior depending on what the robot detects on the floor.
xLean demonstrated natural-language cleaning requests and showed the TR1 locating household objects and performing basic visual checks around the home.
Hizero Glide R700 Skips Suction
Hizero's Glide R700 takes a completely different approach.
It does not use suction at all.
Hizero made that point hard to miss at IFA with a large "We don't suck" message across its booth.
Instead of pulling debris through a vacuum intake, the R700 uses a polymer roller that stays in contact with the floor. The system collects dry debris and liquid while separating solids from dirty water inside the robot.
That means there is no suction motor, dust bag or HEPA filter.
R700 Is Built for Hard Floors
The R700 is also focused on hard-floor cleaning.
It carries a 300-milliliter clean-water tank and a 250-milliliter wastewater tank, with a listed runtime of up to 220 minutes.
Hizero says the robot can cross thresholds up to 20 millimeters and reach under furniture with 110 millimeters of clearance.
Navigation is handled by lidar, with additional sensing around the robot.
Hizero also displayed the R700 upside down at IFA, giving attendees a clear view of the large cleaning roller underneath.
Pricing and Availability
Both robots have now appeared at CES and IFA, but neither company has announced firm pricing or a release date.
For now, the TR1 and Glide R700 remain two of the more unusual floor-cleaning robots making the trade show rounds.
