Segway Shows Navimow H5 Pro at IFA 2026

Segway Navimow announced its new H5 Pro robotic lawn mower at IFA 2026 in Berlin.

The H5 Pro builds on the current H2 Series with a new edge-cutting arm, all-wheel drive and expanded obstacle detection.

H5 Pro Adds an Extendable Cutting Arm

The biggest change from the H2 is Segway’s new EdgeMaestro robotic arm.

The H2 can ride over flush boundaries for edge cutting and can cut within 2 inches of walls and fences. The H5 Pro instead moves its main cutting system outward on an arm that extends 3 inches.

The arm carries the same cutting disc used for the rest of the lawn rather than a separate trimmer or secondary cutting disc.

It can move vertically over uneven ground and deflect around objects such as landscape lights. Segway also added two guide wheels and a rake that pulls grass toward the cutting disc.

EdgeSense 2.0 adjusts the arm based on the type of boundary, including hard edges, softer lawn borders and irregular shapes.

The H5 Pro also adds a cutting-disc shield intended to limit debris and drop detection designed to reduce the risk of tipping near lawn boundaries.

H5 Pro Moves to All-Wheel Drive

The H5 Pro upgrades the H2’s conventional drivetrain with four independently driven wheels.

Segway rates the H5 Pro for slopes up to 80%, or 38.6 degrees, compared with 45%, or 24 degrees, for the H2.

The mower can also cross obstacles up to 2.4 inches high and adds rear suspension to help keep the wheels in contact with uneven ground.

Its steering system can turn the mower in place or steer more gradually depending on the situation.

Navigation Remains Lidar, NRTK and Vision

Segway is carrying over the same general positioning approach used by the H2.

Both models combine lidar, NRTK and vision, so that part of the H5 Pro is not a major change from the current H Series.

The larger change is obstacle and animal detection.

The H2 combines lidar and vision and can identify more than 200 types of obstacles. The H5 Pro adds 360-degree camera coverage and a thermal infrared sensor designed to help detect small animals in low-light conditions.

Segway says the mower can stop its cutting blades and reroute when it detects a potential animal.

The company is also working with German hedgehog rescue organization Igelhilfe Schulzendorf on testing and evaluation of the system.

Price and Availability

Segway has not announced pricing for the Navimow H5 Pro. The company says the mower will be available beginning in early 2027.
