How to Use Dreame's "OK, Dreame" Voice Assistant and Supported Commands
Learn how to use Dreame's built-in voice assistant, including supported models, cleaning commands, room selection, voice-directed cleanups and setup.
Dreame's built-in voice assistant lets owners start cleaning, direct their robot vacuum to specific areas and adjust cleaning settings without opening the Dreamehome app.
The assistant responds to "OK, Dreame" and supports hands-free cleaning on compatible models. Unlike Alexa, Siri or Google Home, it doesn't require a separate smart speaker.
What Voice Commands Does Dreame Support?
Dreame's voice assistant supports the following functions on compatible models.
- Start cleaning
- Pause cleaning
- Resume cleaning
- Stop cleaning
- Return to the charging dock
- Start mopping
- Start vacuuming
- Clean a specific room
- Clean a zone
- Clean where you're standing
- Change cleaning modes
- Adjust cleaning settings
Dreame provides examples such as "OK, Dreame, clean up here," "OK, Dreame, start mopping" and "OK, Dreame, start zoned cleaning." in their user manuals.
The company advertises more than 40 offline commands on supported models, although the available functions and exact wording can vary.

How to Activate Dreame's Voice Assistant
Before using voice commands, power on the robot and complete its initial setup.
- Download the Dreamehome app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Add your robot and follow the instructions to connect it to Wi-Fi.
- Open the robot's settings and find the voice assistant options.
- Enable the built-in voice assistant if necessary.
- Complete mapping to use room-specific cleaning commands.
Say "OK, Dreame" followed by a supported instruction.
The robot's microphone listens for the wake phrase, allowing it to receive commands without opening the app.
Tell Dreame to Come to You and Clean
One of Dreame's more useful voice features allows compatible robots to clean near the person speaking.
The "OK, Dreame, clean up here" command directs the robot toward the speaker for a localized cleaning task.
This can be useful after spilling crumbs or making a small mess that doesn't require cleaning an entire room.
The robot must be able to determine where the voice is coming from. Background noise, distance and room layout may affect the result.
Not every Dreame robot with built-in voice control supports this feature.
Cleaning Specific Rooms and Areas
Dreame's voice assistant can send the robot to individual rooms without opening Dreamehome.
Say "OK, Dreame" followed by "Clean the" and one of the supported room names, including:
- Living room
- Bedroom or guest room
- Study or office
- Kitchen or dining room
- Bathroom
- Balcony or hallway
- Utility room or closet
- Drawing room
- Gym or recreation area
The voice assistant also recognizes "Clean the pet area" and "Clean up here." The latter directs compatible robots toward the person speaking for a localized cleanup.
Room cleaning uses the robot's saved map, so rooms must be identified in Dreamehome before they can be selected by voice.
Changing Cleaning Modes and Settings
Dreame supports voice control for selected cleaning modes, including starting vacuuming or mopping.
Available adjustments depend on the robot. Some models have spinning mop pads, while others use continuously washed roller mops.
Additional settings, including suction power, water flow and room-specific cleaning preferences, can be managed through Dreamehome.
Not every app setting is available through voice commands.
How Dreame's Offline Voice Control Works
On supported models, Dreame's built-in assistant can recognize basic instructions without Wi-Fi.
This allows owners to control certain cleaning operations even if the internet connection is unavailable.
However, advanced features that depend on app configuration, saved maps or connected services may have additional requirements.
What If Dreame Doesn't Understand a Command?
If the robot doesn't respond, check that it is powered on and the built-in voice assistant is enabled.
Move closer, reduce background noise and try a shorter command.
If the assistant recognizes the wake phrase but doesn't complete the request, check the supported voice instructions in the Dreamehome app.
The app remains necessary for mapping, scheduling and more detailed cleaning adjustments.
