Roborock Saros 20 Flow May Be Based on China’s New G30S Ultra

Roborock has yet to formally announce the Saros 20 Flow in the United States, but a newly launched model in China may offer the clearest look yet at what to expect.

The Saros 20 Flow would mark an important shift for Roborock. It would be the company's first flagship-level robot vacuum built around a roller mop instead of dual spinning or flat mop pads used on recent Saros models.

The Roborock G30S Ultra launched in China on Aug. 14 as a new flagship roller-mop model, with hardware and a design that closely resemble what is expected from the upcoming Saros 20 Flow.

There is still no direct confirmation linking the two models, so the connection should be treated as tentative.

According to Roborock's Chinese product listing, the G30S Ultra uses a 10.6-inch (270-millimeter) microfiber mop roller supplied with heated water up to 167 degrees Fahrenheit (75 Celsius) via 16 hydration nozzles. The roller spins at up to 240 rpm with about 3.4 pounds (15 newtons) of downward force.

The roller extends outward to clean closer along walls and edges, leaving a gap of less than 0.4 of an inch (10 millimeters). When the robot detects carpet, the roller can lift up to 0.6 of an inch (15 millimeters) to reduce contact with carpet fibers.

Vacuuming is rated at 41,000 pascals and the unit will feature Roborock's DuoDivide-style anti-tangle main brush and dual side brushes found on the Qrevo Curv 2 Flow.

The robot stands 3.54 inches (8.98 centimeters) tall and features a retractable lidar system. Roborock also claims it can clear two-stage thresholds up to 3.46 inches (8.8 centimeters) using its AdaptiLift chassis, a figure nearly equal to the height of the robot itself.

Obstacle avoidance uses Roborock's Reactive AI system, which can recognize up to 300 objects with cameras and structured-light sensors.

The dock can wash the mop roller with water heated up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 Celsius) and dry it with hot air up to 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63 Celsius). Automatic detergent dispensing and a 0.7-gallon (2.7-liter) dust bag are also included on the Chinese model.

Roborock has not announced U.S. pricing or a release date for the Saros 20 Flow, and regional versions can differ.

Still, the timing and hardware are difficult to ignore. The Saros 20 Flow has already appeared in Roborock's U.S. app and passed through the FCC's approval process.

Until the official announcement, the G30S Ultra offers the best available preview of what the Saros 20 Flow may become.
